While the AI momentum creates a vast market, building the necessary infrastructure poses substantial challenges. Solutions are needed for power and cooling to satisfy AI's high demands. Simultaneously, the industry advances, with innovative chip designs enhancing AI processing and more efficient data center construction meeting growing needs. This discussion explores market dynamics, the hurdles faced by infrastructure designers, and inventive solutions. We delve into critical aspects like power and cooling, as well as advances in chip architecture and data center design. 【講者簡介】

Dr. Tau Leng, Senior Vice President of Technology at Supermicro, is a seasoned leader with three decades of experience in the server and storage industry. He spearheads innovation and the development of cutting-edge technologies and product solutions. Tau is widely recognized for his technical expertise in high-performance computing, edge/cloud ICT architecture, and datacenter technologies.

Before his tenure at Supermicro, he played a pivotal role at Dell Computer, where he established and nurtured the HPC group and business starting in 1999. Tau's contributions extend to his involvement on the Board of Directors at industry organizations, including the SSI (Server System Initiative) Forum, where he held various leadership roles from 2009 to 2018. Additionally, he was a member of the Board of Directors at SNIA (Storage Networking Industry Association) and the technical committee of High Performance Computing for Upstream in EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) from 2018 to 2020.

Tau holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Fu Jen University in Taiwan, a Master's degree in Computer Science from Utah State University, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Houston.
