演講者經歷:
Dr. Ted Kuo, a silicon valley veteran, who has more than 20 years of entrepreneurship and technologies in the areas of network routing/switching, network virtualization and management, wireless networking and Internet of Things (IoT) experiences.   
 
Dr. Kuo joins D-Link in late 2009 as its Chief Software Architect to design and develop mydlink cloud services over connected devices.   The mydlink services have been in operation globally and recently surpassed the one million subscribers mark.  Dr. Kuo currently holds the Global Strategy Officer position at D-Link.  
 
Prior to D-Link,  Dr. Kuo was a Visiting Technologist at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC), an ex-Xerox research arm responsible for user experience, green technologies, and networking research.   He architected and mentored a team to develop a cloud-based device management solutions for small and medium business (SMB).  The team, PowerCloud Systems, later were funded by Walden and Qualcomm Ventures.   
 
Dr. Kuo has co-founded two companies, Airespider Networks and Janusys Networks, working on wireless switches and wireless mesh products for SMB, respectively.  The Airespider products had won industry awards for its usability and innovation.  The Janusys wireless mesh technologies was partially adopted in the IEEE 802.11s, a Task Group Janusys helped to created.  In both ventures, Ted developed the key technologies and served as the company CEO to oversee business operations.  Airespider was acquired by Ruckus Wireless in 2007 (NYSE:RKUS) and Janusys was acquired by Accton Technology (TWSE:2345) in 2004.   Dr. Kuo was one of the early architects at Siara Systems, a KPCB backed venture, in charge of its SONET Multiservice Provisioning Platform architecture.  Siara was acquired by Redback in 2000. 
 
Before Dr. Kuo experienced his first sting of startups, he held various engineering and management positions with corporations like Cisco, Bay Networks/Nortel, and IBM.   He also participated and contributed to ATM Forum, IETF, and IEEE 802.11 WG.  
 
Dr. Kuo holds six patents and seven pending ones in the areas of wireline and wireless networking.   He obtains his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.   He's currently pursuing his EMBA degree at the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan while working on a D-Link incubated IoT venture.
