AI in XR

Abstract：

This talk will introduce three artificial intelligence topics in AR/VR/MR (collectively called XR), including gesture interaction based on multi-modal data, localization and recognition for AR applications, and cross-domain/modal data generation for VR content. Deep learning methodologies such as RNN, CNN, GAN and their variants are proposed to deal with the challenges of these three topics. We will also discuss the future trend of XR technology.

Speaker Bio：                                                                                         

Min-Chun Hu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. She received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science and information engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2004 and 2006, respectively. In 2011, she received the Ph.D. degree in the Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. She was a postdoctoral research fellow of Research Center for Information Technology Innovation, Academia Sinica, from 2011 to 2012. She was awarded the Exploration Research Award from Pan Wen Yuan Foundation and the Outstanding Youth Award from the Computer Society of the Republic Of China (CSROC) in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Her research interests include digital signal processing, multimedia content analysis, machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, virtual reality and augmented reality.
