演講大綱(Abstracts)

The fast development of Web is resulting in great growth of online advertising. Thus, how to design efficient ways to deliver suitable online advertisements (ads) to consumers while they surf or search the Web has become an important issue. In this talk, we will present two novel online advertising works utilizing web mining techniques. In the first work, we focus on the issue of weblog advertising. First, we provide clearer realization about bloggers' emotions and needs by making comprehensive analyses from a collection of blog articles. Second, we propose a novel event-driven emotion-need-based advertising model to effectively deliver suitable ads to really meet emotional needs of bloggers. In the second work, we introduce the innovation and challenges of complex task search advertising. When a user searches a complex task involving several subtasks, it is hard for search engines to recommend suitable ads covering the diverse subtasks using conventional query-to-ad matching methods. For example, the complex task "prepare for wedding" contains several subtasks, such as "buy wedding dress","reserve wedding venue", "buy wedding rings", etc. In this work, we address the new problem of identifying comprehensive subtask consumption needs for users'  complex tasks and then recommending suitable ads to help search providers facilitate users in purchasing desired products/services.
