※演講摘要：This talk presents two research activities performed at the Dept. of Information and Communication Technology, University of Agder, Norway, within the topics of cognitive radio networks (CRNs) and LTE networks. The first topic deals with channel aggregation in multi-channel CRNs. Considering both loss and queuing systems, we propose four channel aggregation strategies and analyze the performance of these strategies through mathematical modeling and simulations. The second topic deals with medium access mechanisms in LTE-U which enables the co-existence of LTE and WiFi in the unlicensed band. We investigate the performance of two newly proposed access mechanisms by 3GPP and evaluate their transmission opportunities as well as access fairness under various scenarios.
