題目: Approximation Algorithms for Virtual Backbone in Wireless Sensor Network

摘要: The rapid progress of wireless sensor network proposes a lot of new challenges to the theoretical study of approximation algorithm. For example, to save energy and to reduce interference, the concept of virtual backbone emerges, which corresponds to a connected dominating set in a graph. Considering the quality of virtual backbone, some variations are studied, concerning with its fault-tolerance, stretch factor, etc. In this talk, I shall survey some results, present some of our recent progress, and propose some open problems in this field.

演講者簡介: Zhao Zhang is a Professor in College of Mathematics Physics and Information Engineering, Zhejiang Normal University (浙江師範大學).  Her current research interest is on approximation algorithms on combinatorial optimization problems emerging from various networks.
