Abstract
Computer graphics, geometry processing, and visual computing has been advancing at an increasing speed, thanks in large part to the more advanced mathematics that researchers in our fields employ. On the other hand, the ever-increasing use of sophisticated mathematics is also making the learning curve steeper, if not outright inaccessible, to researchers, students, and game developers. Math visualization, with visual and interactive representations of the knowledge, has the potential of making
fundamental concepts and important results in an advanced mathematical topic more accessible to stakeholders. In this talk, I will review our research in the visualization of two mathematical topics: (1) branched covering spaces and (2) orbifolds.
About the Speaker
