講者介紹(bio)
Dr. Kwan-Liu Ma is a distinguished professor of computer science at the University of California-Davis, where he directs VIDI Labs and UC Davis Center of Excellence for Visualization. His research spans the fields of visualization, AI\ML, computer graphics, human computer interaction and high-performance computing.
Professor Ma received his PhD in computer science from the University of Utah in 1993, and worked as a research scientist at ICASE/NASA Langley Research Center for six years before joining UC Davis.
Professor Ma is presently leading a team of 20 researchers pursuing research in data visualization and analytics, human-AI teaming, and human-computer interaction. For his significant research accomplishments, Professor Ma received the NSF Presidential Early-Career Research Award (PECASE) in 2000 and the IEEE VGTC Visualization Technical Achievement Award in 2013, and was elevated to IEEE Fellow in 2012, inducted into the Visualization Academy in 2019, and elevated to ACM Fellow in 2023. Professor Ma has been actively serving the research community by playing leading roles in many professional activities. For example, he has served as papers co-chair for SciVis, InfoVis, EuroVis, PacificVis, and Graph Drawing. Professor Ma presently serves on the IEEE VIS Steering Committee and IEEE PacificVis Steering Committee.
