Hsinchu, Taiwan

時間: 09/30(二) 13:20~15:10

地點: 綜合一館地下室 101室 (AB101)

主持人:王昱舜教授

主題: Recreational Computer Graphics

大綱:

Fascinating images and amazing crafts are filling with our daily life. While it is always pleasing to look at these man-made art works, creating them is not trivial and demands artistic skills.  Thus, it inspires a large amount of works in computer graphics to pursue computer-aided design of visually attracting recreational works in the past decade. In this talk, I would present three works of mine in this avenue. In the beginning, I introduce the "Emerging Images" that generates seemingly meaningless binary image where the 3D model can be perceived when it is looks as a whole. Next, an extension, namely "Camouflage Images", will be presented to show how the figures of animals is delicately concealed in a wonderful scenery. Lastly, a fully automatic technique to generate visual QR code will be elaborated. I will demonstrate that the ordinary QR code could actually carry surprisingly high quality visual content without impairing its capacity and readability.
