I am recruiting three masters students as teaching assistants (TAs) for "Introduction to Database System", Fall 2025.

Tasks

The teaching assistants for the course would be required to perform the following tasks and duties.

• Tasks: As a TA, your main responsibility will be grading and addressing student questions.
1. Grade Assignments (作業批改): TAs will be required to grade students' assignments during the semester.
• Note: We will have 2-3 assignments in total across the semester.
2. Grade Midterm and Finals Exam (試卷批閱): TAs will be required to grade students' midterm and final exams.
• Note: Please be prepare to spend the week after the midterm and final exams for grading.
3. Address Student questions (解答問題): TAs will help responding to students' questions through emails.
• Note: TAs will not be required to hold weekly office hour, but we may hold end of quarter Q&A session before the final week.
4. Grade Final Project (期末專案評分): TAs are required to grade student's final project submissions.
5. Assist with grade upload (成績登錄): TAs will help finalize and upload grades to E3 across the semester.
• Other duties
1. Course Staff Meeting (教學團隊會議): As the teaching team, we (the instructor and the TAs) will be meeting once per week (for 30-60mins) to align on course plans.
• Note: We will try to meet as less as possible and only communicate asynchronously if needed. But please be prepared to meet during the first few weeks, midterms, and finals of the semester for logistic about course preparation and essential course milestones.
2. Other minor supports (其他): TAs may be inquired by the instructor for support on course materials, such as

• Reviewing or giving a final pass on materials for the course (e.g., rubrics and course relevant documents to be released)
• Examining or ideating on the examples used in class and lectures

Requirements

1. Proficiency in English as a Medium of Instruction: This course is offered in english, thus we ask you to be prepared and sufficient to work on materials mainly in english for this course.
2. Sufficient Knowledge and Background for the course material: Teaching assistants must be well-prepared for grading assignments, exams, final projects, and addressing student questions. Proficiency in knowledge about the course is require.

Benefits and salaries for TAs will be based on the policy of NYCU Department of Computer Science (國立陽明交通大學獎助學金實行細則), with monthly salaries and labor and health insurance covered.
