Create a Vision by Supercomputing Rendering
摘要：
For Taiwanese who dream of being able to create 3D animations like “Avatar,” but who don’t have the funds or technology to help make their dreams come true, the National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) built Taiwan’s first “Render Farm” in late 2011, thus, providing a whole new platform for domestic creative works! Users are able to directly access cloud services of the NCHC-built Render Farm over the Internet.
Other than rendering service, we also dedicated in developing special effect techniques which are applied in our “Simulations of breaking wave effects bring to life a digital ship” and “A New Vision of Modern Dance in terms of dynamics” short animations; the latter is accepted in year 2012 SIGGRAPH Asia. In the supporting of local animation companies, several domestic films including “Zon Pro Site” （總舖師）, “Mida” （夢見）and so on are supported by our Render Farm and special effect team.
Regarding cultivation of young talents, the NCHC also hosted the first and second “HPC Kung Fu--NCHC 3D Animation Challenge" in the past years in an effort to further accelerate the popularization of Render Farm. Currently, the third HPC Kung Fu competition is open for participation.

郭嘉真博士畢業於交大環境工程研究所，現職國家高速網路與計算中心組長，致力於高速算圖與力學特效、計算科技教育等研究。其團隊更與文創界合作參與國片《花漾》、《總舖師》、《夢見》等之製作，創辦「HPC功夫 – 國網3D動畫全國大賽」與「3D動畫大師營」對於台灣動畫產業有很深遠的影響。
