- 大綱:
Normally it takes 3~5 years to setup one ecosystem and at least 24 months to achieve one major milestone (engineering, marketing and developer enablement, …) but lots of management terminated their projects shorter than that. Intel (x86), nVidia (GeForce), NXP (ARM for broad-based market), Arduino, or Raspberry Pi didn’t build-up their ecosystem overnight.
Approach for ecosystem build-up is setting up industrial alliance and standards.- Most of ARM partners have doubts and difficulty to evaluate the return & how to leverage from ecosystem in the beginning
- Bottleneck: how to define common interests with industrial leaders for win-win (you share your know-how, get what you want and still keep your own differentiation)
- Ecosystem need to consider boarder horizontal & vertical partners (Semi, System, Software, App, Developer, Academy/Educators…)
Create common HW/SW Platform could off-load engineering efforts and enable SMB & maker market; it’s incubation process.
